We travel the world telling stories with our cameras and it isn’t often we get to shoot weddings in our hometown of Claremont California. We’ve been all over, but there is just something about this little town that keeps us coming back. We know every corner of this place and Andrea and Geoff’s wedding at Little Bridges Concert Hall here in the prestigeous Claremont Colleges allowed us to capture images that we’ve been dreaming of. We wanted to tell the story of this incredible couple in a small town in a big way. We wanted to capture the environment, to wrap them in a true sense of place. As usual we took all kinds of intimate photos as well, but here is just a small preview of what we like to call “the big picture”.
Lisa and Sean’s wedding at Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs wall filled with incredible words. They are writers after all. They met through their work as screen writers here in Los Angeles, so it came as no surprise that we hit it off right away through our mutual love of story. Their guests shuffled into the courtyard of Korakia Pensione and a familiar buzz of excitement settled on the crowd. It was a true family affair. Lisa emerged from a staircase at the back of the crowd alongside her mother. She met her soon to be husband and was greeted by Sean’s dad who performed the ceremony. His words were full and sincere. They seemed to ring from a place deeper and more well rooted than this age. Out of nowhere an audience member stood and recited lyrics from a love song. They sat, only to be followed by another, and another, and another. Hearing the words to a song without the music brings a whole new light to the craft of songwriting and Lisa and Sean’s choices were brilliant. The rest of the evening was painted with hugs, drinks around fire pits, and heartfelt speeches. The couple’s friends were equally as eloquent when giving their speeches during the open mic portion of the evening.
We’ve often talked about what we might do today if we were to get married again. Korakia Pensione would be at the top of our list. We can’t wait to work with their incredible staff again. A huge thank you to Lisa and Sean and their incredibly warm family and friends for inviting us in and making us feel at home. Here are a few favorites from the day.
Korakia Pensione Wedding
Kimberly and Kaleb’s wedding at Hamilton Oaks Winery reminded us how much we love home. Even though we are always thrilled to get to travel, we are so incredibly blessed to get to live in Southern California and we love the opportunity to tell a story in our own backyard. With the help of the incredible Sanya at Hamilton Oaks Winery Events, the entire day felt like home. Kimberly and Kaleb were in this together from the beginning and we were continually wooed by the warmth and love of their friends and family. Some days feel like we are stepping into another world and we need time to warm up. Kimberly and Kaleb’s love for one another was infectios and warming in itself. Their shared faith simply glowed and we have no doubt that these two are going to have an incredible life together. We are excited for the adventures ahead and for the story they leave in their wake. Here are a few favorites from the day.
